Letter from the President
To all Members, Friends, and Family:
Welcome to the Bethlehem Association website. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and update everyone on the current state of the Bethlehem Association. I will begin by saying I am both honored and excited to be the new President. I want to thank our former president, Maher Elhihi, and the Board of Directors for their trust and confidence in electing me to this position.
Being Palestinian has been a huge part of who I am. I grew up in a family that was very involved in the Palestinian community. They instilled in me how essential it is to keep the tradition and values of our culture. I always looked forward to learning more about our culture and wanted to strive to make a difference, which led me take an active role in the association. In the past conventions, I saw how excited our members were to get together and talk about their families and childhood memories. Experiencing this has made it a personal goal of mine to continue bringing our people together to reunite and keep our heritage and culture alive.
I am happy to announce that we have a new committed and motivated Executive Team.
Our objective is to revitalize the Association by:
- Building awareness and promoting our goals and work through word of mouth, social media,
and our new website. - Reaching out and encouraging more young adults to take on an active role within the
Association, as the future of our organization depends on it.
Last but not least, I want to remind everyone about our mission to support the charities & organizations in our hometowns of Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour. We need your support and participation to build up the Bethlehem Association. We cannot do it without you!
We will see you all at our next convention!
Sincerely,
Stephen Asfour
