2017 to 2018 Academic Year

Jane Deeb Maliha

Dear Mr. Edward Hazbun,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous, financial support toward my education. I am very grateful for your help.

I graduated this year in the spring of 2018, I majored in English Language and Literature and minored in Business Administration. There are no words to describe how proud I am to be an English graduate of Bethlehem University. Currently, I plan to find a career in order to gain more experience, develop my skills and get ready to continue my studies in Business administration.

Receiving this scholarship helped me to reduce my financial burden, and allowed me to focus more on the most important courses so I can maintain my GPA and achieve my goal. I look forward to being able to give back to the community once I begin my teaching career and I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals as you have helped me.

Sincerely,
Jane Maliha

Safa Khaled Nuaimi

Dear Dr. Edward A. Hazboun,

I am writing to thank you for your and Bethlehem Association generous scholarships during the last 4 years of my study at Bethlehem University. I was very grateful that I was among those receiving your scholarship, which was of great help and benefit to me and my family.

Your substantial scholarship helped me reach my goals,' Alhamdu Lillah' as well as helped and eased my family's commitment towards my financial obligations through the past four years especially in these hard times which Palestinians in the occupied land face all the time.

I am delighted to inform you that I ended my studies at BU with 3.7 grade in the last semester and with a total curriculum 3.18 grade, where I graduated with honors. This achievement helped me to find a job opportunity at Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, where I can now fulfill my humanitarian objectives towards our people in Jerusalem and elsewhere in our beloved Palestine. I will start my duties next month, God Willing.

At the same time, I wish to extend my sincere thanks to Mr. & Mrs. William and Blanca Hubbell who stood beside me through their sponsorships. Their support is highly appreciated.

Thank you again for your generosity and support. I hope I could work hard and eventually give something back to future students like myself, God Willing.

Sincerely,

Dina Ibrahim Awwad

Dear Dr. Hazboun:
Dear Mr.&Ms. Handal:

I’d like to first give my gratitude and appreciation to your generosity and your help for this semester and to the Handal's Family for their support.

My name is Dina Awwad, I’m 21 years old and I live in Beit Jala ( a small nice town not so far from Bethlehem). I graduated high school back in 2013 and decided to start studying accounting in Bethlehem University. Bethlehem University was always known of its strong faculty of Business administration and that encouraged me to enrol as these were subjects of my concern.

During my studies at Bethlehem university I was able to get to know a lot of good friends, and inspired by amazing teachers. The fact that the material is symmetric with those taught in worldwide universities makes the learning experience much interesting and fruitful. Also, I’m part of the ambassador program, which is a program where students act as representatives of the university talking to donors, visitors and potential investors who come to the university from around the world, as an ambassador I learned to share my story , enhanced my public speaking skills and was more aware of how is the political situation perceived by people who live abroad. Moreover, I did my internship in USA with Catholic charities which is an organization focused on society development, and helping anyone who wants real help and support. There I had training in my field of study (accounting)in the finance department. I aspire to get my CPA once graduating and then pursuing my MA abroad and in the future my Phd.

I come from a humble big family of 6. I have two brothers and one sister. My dad is a n accountant, he has been in his job ever since he graduated high school. His job was really good and the business was at its peak in his early days. But after the first intifada and the wall of separation things went down with business and a lot of deals were lost due to constraints on mobility. My mom is a matron in the holy family hospital. My older brother and sister are doctors While my younger brother is still in high school. In my free time I usually volunteer as helping out people makes me happy, I read a lot of books of different genres, and getting to know new cultures and meeting new people. As making connections is a significant key in the business and social world.

Sincerely Yours,
Dina Awwad
